Here comes Part 2 of Zack and Jenn’s wedding and now it’s time for some crazy sweet country awesomeness! I’m a huge fan of backlit images and think they lend a feel as emotional as black and white. To add to the authenticity of this incredible country wedding, the red tractor that these shots are taken in front of is Jenn’s Grandpa’s old tractor that he used back in the day. It was so cool that they still had this tractor on site, and that it actually still runs! Enjoy Part 2!

Amazing flowers done by Crystal Gardens in Poway!

These next few are really special because they show a little nuance of Zack and Jenn’s relationship. During their engagement session and many times on their wedding day, they would kiss, then pause with their foreheads together. A really cute moment that I think captures these two so well.

I had to throw in a shot of Jenn and her Grandpa because they were so cute together. Like I said in Part 1 of this post, Jenn couldn’t help, but swell up with tears when she met eyes with him. This is one of those images that I’m just so happy that I was able to capture.

Again, for you photogs out there! This was a long exposure shot of the tractor. Settings were ISO 400 at f/4 and a 30 second exposure. Even caught a shooting star in there! A very special evening indeed.

ZACK AND JENN | RAMONA, CA – PART 1 OF 2

For all of you folks out there who dream of a country style wedding, but just don’t know how to make it look authentic, look no further. Zack and Jenn’s wedding in Ramona, CA was the most genuine country wedding that I’ve ever shot! Over the past few months a team of people have worked tirelessly to turn a large patch of dirt in Jenn’s parent’s backyard into a grassed area complete with a full kitchen and bar gazebo, tiered level stone faced patio, with a running stream trickling down the hillside. All of this is was beautifully incorporated into their land next to their horse pen, full working barn, and enough cool old farm equipment to make any photographer smile ear to ear.

Their wedding also had something else that was incredibly authentic, and that was the love that these two share. Zack and Jenn’s wedding wasn’t a show or production with regimented timelines and choreographed dancing, it was just completely real. These two have been in love for years and their wedding day was a celebration of that love.

Let’s start off with our groom decked out in a sweet tux!

Neither of the two were concerned with seeing each other before the altar, so Jenn came over to check out Zack all done up. I love seeing the grooms face the first time he sees his bride!

Like I said, very authentic country! Check out that frosting!

As a part of the structure that they built, they installed these two metal cowboy and cowgirl cutouts. Huge props to the florist for bringing an extra bouquet and boutonniere for these two!

Okay, I’ll admit it, I LOVE ring shots!

Alright, so I have a lot of favorites, but these next two are very near the top of the list. This was right as they were walking up to the altar.

They held the tears in so well while delivering their vows and exchanging rings, but on their way down the steps the waterworks finally broke through! Such a cool moment right after their ceremony!

This is sort of a teaser for what’s to come tomorrow. Their couple shots are insane! Stay tuned for sweet backlit images by a sweet old tractor!

Sarah and Noah, The Handlery :: San Diego

From one of my favorite engagement shoots and one of my favorite couples, I knew that this would be an amazing wedding! Sarah and Noah had their engagement session up in Ramona, and if you don’t remember the ridiculously cute pictures of these two, click here and check those out first! Their wedding was down at The Handlery Hotel and Resort in San Diego and it could not have been a more beautiful day. The details were well paid attention to, the flowers fresh and bright, the linens covering the tables, and the dishes, glasses and silverware all perfectly placed. Though, what made this day so incredible was not any of these things. The love that these two share is what made everything so joyful and wonderful to be apart of. The kind of wedding that you couldn’t help, but tear up at!

Throughout the day, there were so many moments. These emotion filled moments almost tangible, that you felt like you could almost grab them in your hands when one appeared. Well I have the honor of that being my job. I would love to share those moments with all of you.

The beautiful flowers were from Tammy at Bloomin Island Flowers. They made an awesomely colorful backdrop for a few sweet ring shots.

This moment of Sarah felt really special. You could see the anticipation in her eyes as all of her bridesmaids lent a hand to get the veil just right.

One of my favorites from the day.

A huge shout out to Jeremy Young for shooting this wedding with me! Having two shooters there on that once in a lifetime day provides the opportunity to capture both of their faces the moment they first see each other. Noah’s face here tells such a story!

Sarah had her shoes died to match the pink in the bridesmaid’s dresses. Pink shoes = tons of shoe shots!

This is the winner in my list for the day. I LOVE this image! They’re a good lookin’ smoochin’ couple ;)

Ahhh!!! I was so excited to shoot this image and I was thinking about it the whole day!!! At their engagement session, we pulled off the pitch-fork image, then did it again on their wedding day (Of course on their wedding day we didn’t have the pitch-fork. That would have been weird to walk through the hotel lobby with). In the video slideshow, these two images dissolve perfectly from one to the other!

Uhhh, yeah. If I can get a shot of the bride with a Bud Light in her hand, consider that a winner! This is Sarah and her brother enjoying some tasty refreshments ;)

Their first dance was to a song called “I like to be with me, when I’m with you” by Drew Holcomb and it is officially one of my new favorite songs! It’s folky and it’s crazy cute!

Once the dancing got started, the party kicked off in high gear! Stay tuned for breakdancing awesomeness!!!

BAM!!! Check this out! Two of Sarah’s co-workers busted out some insane breakdancing moves!

High five to Jeremy for slipping me into a shot. I feel like I need to pull a cameo appearance in all my weddings from here on out. Maybe even sneakier next time, like a Where’s Waldo of wedding photos!

I loved their bookmarks that they had made for their day. I slipped outside during the craziness and snapped a few late night ring shots.

NOAH AND SARAH :: TEASER

This last weekend, I shot the wedding of Noah and Sarah at The Handlery Hotel and Resort in San Diego, CA. It was beautiful and I couldn’t help, but post this teaser. As a photographer, I get to hang out with couples and start to pickup on their little quirks and things that they do to show their love to each other. Through the time that I’ve spent with Noah and Sarah, I’ve seen Noah gently kiss Sarah on the forehead many times and I was nearly in tears when I captured this moment on their wedding day. Enjoy!
