David Manning Photographers Bloggin bio picture

Welcome to dmp bloggin!

I'm a big believer in living life to it's fullest and for the most part, you'll find a smile on my face!  That's the short story about me.  The long story includes a passion for photography, playing my guitar, surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, hockey, mountain biking, skydiving and more!

I like good coffee in the morning, and good wine at night.  Cooking combines three of my favorite things, creativity, food, and friends. So you can often times find me in the kitchen making an Italian family recipe.  You're welcome at my house anytime!  Just bring a smile, an appetite, and if you want to score big points, a bottle of red wine!  (Oh, and don't be afraid to have your picture taken.  If you're here, it's bound to happen!)

All of these activities are amazing, but they would not be nearly as fun or possible at all if it weren't for God, my family, and my friends.  These three are the most important to me, and I cannot thank them enough for supporting me on this amazing journey!

Jonah Franklin Neldon | Cute freaking kid!

Spring has come, flowers are blooming more than ever, the rainy season is hopefully coming to an end, and newborn babies are EVERYWHERE!  I’m serious.  They’re actually everywhere.  All of my best friends have just now started having children, a couple people that I work with, and it seems like everywhere I go, they’re popping up more and more.  Being surrounded by babies means one sure thing… baby gifts.  Everyone needs baby gifts, but what to get… what to get…  Well, I give photography.  One, because this is what I do, and two, because I’m pretty sure Babies R Us is one of the most horrible places that exists on this blue/green earth of ours.  I went there for a baby gift a couple years ago for another friend and I’m pretty sure I’ll never be back.  Soooo, photography it is!

I would like to introduce you to Jonah Franklin Neldon.  Two of my best friends, Drew and Dawn, did an amazing job making this little guy and I’m so crazy proud of them!  I’ll admit right up front that I’ve never really shot newborn sessions, but I have a newfound respect for those that do!  Model/photographer communication is at an all time low and random bouts of scrunched teared up faces come in like a random breeze.  Timing is everything when shooting these precious little ones and patience is a close second.  Jonah was a particularly good baby model and might just have a future as some big screen actor in the future (hopefully by that point in his career he won’t poo half way through his photoshoots)!  For friends, I’ll shoot anything, but professionally I think I’ll stick to the wedding/portrait/fashion world ;)  Enjoy!
