David Manning Photographers Bloggin bio picture

Welcome to dmp bloggin!

I'm a big believer in living life to it's fullest and for the most part, you'll find a smile on my face!  That's the short story about me.  The long story includes a passion for photography, playing my guitar, surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, hockey, mountain biking, skydiving and more!

I like good coffee in the morning, and good wine at night.  Cooking combines three of my favorite things, creativity, food, and friends. So you can often times find me in the kitchen making an Italian family recipe.  You're welcome at my house anytime!  Just bring a smile, an appetite, and if you want to score big points, a bottle of red wine!  (Oh, and don't be afraid to have your picture taken.  If you're here, it's bound to happen!)

All of these activities are amazing, but they would not be nearly as fun or possible at all if it weren't for God, my family, and my friends.  These three are the most important to me, and I cannot thank them enough for supporting me on this amazing journey!

HODGE FAM BAM

There are so many wonderful things about being a photographer.  Doing what you love as a profession, capturing people’s lives through art, or even the fact that some days you don’t have to put a shirt on at all (those are days like today, when I’m bloggin’ it out)!  My favorite thing about being a photographer though, is the relationship that I get to form with my clients.  They really do become friends of mine.  The real gold comes when you get to shoot repeat clients!

It’s so awesome to see the kids grow up, change and mostly become more open and comfortable in front of the lens.  A huge thank you to the Hodge family for being one of those ROCKSTAR families that just keeps having me back again and again!  We already have another shoot set for the summer time!

Here’s Jana throwing up some adorable poses in front of the trains!

Dillon getting cute and silly under one of the trains. (did I mention that I love old rusty trains?)

I think Megan’s modeling career is about to begin…

Billy Jr. has to be one of the cutest little dudes that I’ve ever shot with.  Seriously, I never pose him or tell him what to do, I pretty much just shoot and he rocks out the shots!

I would say that Billy Jr. does have some stiff competition for the cutest kid award from his sister Natalie.  Her look just melts your heart!

Natalie is another “no need to pose” child.  She jumps around and climbs on things and I just shoot away.  Definitely a little girl who is natural in front of the camera!

Ashley ROCKED OUT our session!  Really stunning shots…

Okay, these are some of my favorite shots from the shoot.  Billy Jr. was getting towards the end of his rope when it comes to the camera, but a little tickle from dad brought the smile right out again!  Then, just a few moments later, he randomly decides to drop his pants.  Kids do hilarious things!

I love all the wood textures around them!  What a cool family!

The ladies throwin up an awesome close-up…

Awesomeness…

CAUTION: THE FOLLOWING SHOT IS THE MONEY SHOT.  IT MAY CAUSE AN EXTREME “AWW” MOMENT.  YOU MAY WANT TO RETRIEVE A TISSUE BEFORE SCROLLING DOWN ANY FURTHER.  YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Thank you again to the Hodge family!  You are all so amazing and I am so blessed to be able to shoot with you as you live this beautiful life.  I can’t wait for our summer shoot!
