David Manning Photographers Bloggin bio picture

Welcome to dmp bloggin!

I'm a big believer in living life to it's fullest and for the most part, you'll find a smile on my face!  That's the short story about me.  The long story includes a passion for photography, playing my guitar, surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, hockey, mountain biking, skydiving and more!

I like good coffee in the morning, and good wine at night.  Cooking combines three of my favorite things, creativity, food, and friends. So you can often times find me in the kitchen making an Italian family recipe.  You're welcome at my house anytime!  Just bring a smile, an appetite, and if you want to score big points, a bottle of red wine!  (Oh, and don't be afraid to have your picture taken.  If you're here, it's bound to happen!)

All of these activities are amazing, but they would not be nearly as fun or possible at all if it weren't for God, my family, and my friends.  These three are the most important to me, and I cannot thank them enough for supporting me on this amazing journey!

MR AND MRS NATALIE RIOS

Wait, what?  Mr. and Mrs. Natalie Rios?  Well at least that’s what she says it’s going to be.  They met playing soccer with him calling her a young girl and her calling him an old man.  Although the age gap is only a few years, the joke blossomed into an amazing relationship that would lead to their engagement.  Although I shoot weddings, Natalie and Jerry have a connection that I don’t see everyday.  I remember sitting with Natalie and her friend (and mine too) Sam at the BUX talking about Jerry.  Her eyes lit up when I asked about her soon to be husband.  She joked about how hunky he was, but through her laughter I could see the serious emotion that was there when she talked about him.  It’s a connection that came through from the first shutter click of the day to the thousandth shutter click. (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of these two!)

Okay, one of the first shots of the day and they are CALIENTE!
1) I love pictures of feet.  It leaves so much up to the imagination.  ”Are they kissing? Maybe, I don’t know, but she has cute shoes!” 2) I LOVE COOL WALLS!!!!
I was so stoked on this picture.  I love the background rocks, barely looks like it’s San Diego! BUT………
THIS picture is HILARIOUS!!!  This is when I knew Jerry is AWESOME!
Thought I would throw in the odd looking floating ball effect.  He was holding it, but without seeing his hands it looks like an ALIEN BALL THAT’S COMING TO GET THEM!!! AHHHH!!!
Alright ladies, calm down, he’s taken already!  Such a stud shot!
I love San Diego.  I realize how lucky I am to live here when I shoot couples and get a shot like this…
THEY ARE SO ADORABLE I can barely stand it!  Okay, so funny story though.  Try to guess where this is…
BEST SHOT OF THE DAY AWARD!  Have you guessed where it’s at yet?  Okay, I’ll tell you…
First off, I love walls, I love lines, I love color.  With that being said, we were walking through downtown La Jolla shooting and having fun when I looked over to an alley with a huge… dumpster.  Yes, that’s right, this is one of those hundred foot long dumpsters that they use at construction sites.  Jerry, Natalie, and Stu (my awesome assistant) were laughing at me for being so excited about a dumpster.  But I told them that it was going to be amazing.  So all I have to say is… I TOLD YOU SO!!  Ha ha ha!  Natalie and Jerry, you are the amazing ones.  Stu and I had such a good time with you and we can’t wait for your wedding!  Hopefully by then I’ll be able to say Jerry’s real name :)
